SPIJ MCP

An unofficial extension that lets Claude search laws and case law in the SPIJ (Peru's official legal information system, run by the Ministry of Justice). It runs on your computer and queries the SPIJ from your own connection.

Ask things like "find the latest amendments to the Consumer Protection Code" or "look for Supreme Court cassations on wrongful dismissal", and Claude finds, reads and cites the documents for you.

What it can do

`buscar_normas`	Search legislation: laws, decrees, resolutions, ordinances.
`buscar_jurisprudencia`	Search cassations, case files, Constitutional Court rulings, plenary agreements.
`obtener_documento`	Read a document in full, in parts if it's long.
`exportar_documento`	Save it to `Downloads/SPIJ` as Word or the original PDF.
`catalogo_spij`	Official catalogs (document types, sectors, subjects) for filtering.
`diagnostico_spij`	Check the connection and access mode.
`comprobar_actualizacion`	Tell you when a new version is out.

Install in Claude Desktop

Download the .mcpb file from the latest release.
Double-click it (or go to Settings → Extensions and drag it in).
Click Install. The SPIJ username and password fields are optional.

It never bypasses the subscription: restricted text is only accessed with your own account.

Limits

It's not an official API; the Ministry can change or block it.
The SPIJ works best with 2–4 keywords or the norm's number, not quoted phrases.
Always verify against the original source before citing.
